Health Economist

Ralph (aged 25) works at the National Clinical Guideline Centre.  He is part of a team who produce guidelines, for doctors and patients, on the best available drugs and treatments.  His role is to assess the cost-effectiveness of different medical treatments. He reviews existing economic evidence and will generate any necessary new research.  He explains how this is achieved by working with top medical consultants.  He also discusses the job roles of other members of the team, and his own future career opportunities in both public and private sectors.
