Review of Creative & Media DVD

Edition: 2009
Cost: £25.00 (plus £5.00 P&P)
The Creative and Media DVD features five case studies, each of a young person working in the broad sector. Jen is a Communications Executive; Paul a Radio Station Manager; Louise a Dance Choreographer; Ian a Designer Craftsman; and Matt a Graphic Designer.
The case studies are all interesting and informative. They will help young people get behind the two-dimensional nature of the job titles and reach some understanding of the sort of work they might become engaged in. The enthusiasm of each individual comes across, alongside the ways in which they have been able to respond to the opportunities that their job has given them. Careers practitioners will also be able to work with or underline the more generic messages, eg the need for inter-personal skills, enterprise, business skills, and the need to customise product or services. The case studies can be used for independent exploration or as a classroom resource. Teacher’s notes are available on www.careers4u.tv
The DVDs are being distributed by Prospects and Schoolhouse Books or can be ordered online at www.careers4u.tv, as can other titles in the series.
